Saturn on February 29, 2004. Two months past opposition, the planet's shadow on the rings is becoming more visible. The faint Crepe ring is also visible. A similar view from 2001 taken before opposition is here.

A composite of about 2000 video frames selected from 5,400 taken using a Philips ToUcam Pro through an Astro-Physics 155mm (6.1 inch) refractor at about f50 starting at 1:26 UT on February 29, 2004 from northern New Jersey. Exposure was 1/50th second at ten frames/second. The video was captured using K3CCDTools, combined using Registax, and further processed in Photoshop. ©2004
